PDF-eXPLODE Print Server appears to hang when a User’s print output arrives on the server for processing
ISSUE :
PDF-eXPLODE allows a single processing instance. It is possible that 2 instances of the PDF-eXPLODE.EXE exists in the Task Manager and one is causing the other to stall. OR
The ‘Privilege Level’ in the Win 7/Win 2008 or Win 2003 has not been set up or is incorrectly set up. When a User prints a report on their workstation to the PDFeXPLODE printer, the print output is sent to the server for PDF-eXPLODE processing on the server. Once received, it appears to freeze and is never processed. What can be done? [Applies to PDF-eXPLODE Server versions only]
ANSWER :
If there is more than one instance of PDF-eXPLODE in Task Manager, open Task Manager and close both/all PDF-eXPLODE EXE's. If there is a job in the print queue, that will restart once you double click and reopen PDF-eXPLODE. Ensure (in Print Server environment) that PDF-eXPLODE on the server is configured to be Very Silent (i.e. all GUI is suppressed) and the User is part of a group that has FULL CONTROL permissions of the install folder. You should also have a look at whether you need an 'Exclusion or Exception' rule for the install folder (PDF-EXPLODE) and the file (PDF-eXPLODE.EXE). AntiVirus activity can block PDF-eXPLODE.exe from processing once it was launched by the PDF-eXPLODE print spooler.
Use these images below, to assist you in creating proper permissions for the install folder as well as configuring the PDF-eXPLODE processing environment.

UPDATE: Win 8 /Win 10/11 /Win Server 2016/2019/2022: We DO NOT recommend the action suggested under Win 7/2008 or XP as these Windows versions have long since been discontinued. In the current Windows environment with the introduction of User Account Control (aka UAC). This security meansure will block such a move as shown above as you cannot elevate a normal User's permission to Run As Administrator, if in fact they do not belong to an Admin group.
