Can PDF-eXPLODE save archive files directly to Sharepoint or use a Sharepoint "folder" as a PDF-eMONITOR monitored folder for the purpose of exploding ?
ISSUE:
We currently are licensed and use PDF eXPLODE with PDF-eMONITOR to explode and email PDFs received directly from our accounting software into a specific network folder . Can we have PDF-eMONITOR poll/monitor a Sharepoint folder as opposed to a network folder? Also can we use a Sharepoint folder path as a valid folder to save PDF-eXPLODE's exploded PDF?
ANSWER:
You cannot use Sharepoint as a source to directly save files created through the exploding process in PDF-eXPLODE However, there is a alternative method to save your files indirectly to a SharePoint Document Library. Once this suggested setup is implemented, the process will be transparent and PDF-eXPLODE will send the files to Sharepoint instead of your Network Drive. Here is what you can do.
- Open File Explorer.
- Click on This PC.
-

- Select Map Network Drive from the toolbar.
- In the "Folder" field, enter the SharePoint URL to the document library (usually something like https://yourcompany.sharepoint.com/sites/sitename/library).
- Follow the prompts to authenticate if needed. After mapping, this will show up as a network drive and will be accessible like a regular folder. Example Z:\ would represent the full path
- Now you can assign/save files to Z:\
- Using PDF-eMONITOR - when setting up the INBOX monitoring folder, assign files to (say) a path Z:\MONITOR
